You accept defeat and invest in a 3TB ext. hard drive and back up your files everyday! Preferably a Seagate one as that allows for Mac and PC.

I would attempt to adopt a stoical outlook and think of some ways for which I am the better because of it. Employing my misfortune as an opportunity to discover something new, I would hope that I could find some new things to replace the void left by the old, and treasure these things to an even greater extent, realising them to have rescued me from my emptiness.

This answer is however predicated on the idea that there is some opportunity remaining, or else if all truly were lost, there would be no cause for action at all, and I would be left to do nothing. I hope you can find some glimmer of hope in the gaps of what has left you.
