Music industry management, is it worth studying?

I've just sent off my ucas to hopefully go to university in September. I've applied for Music Industry Management at a few London unis, because my goal is to manage artists or become a tour manager, something like that. But now I'm thinking maybe it isn't worth going to uni for, it might be better to go out there and just gain as much experience as I can. Has anyone studyed this or a similar course or is anyone currently studying it? Would you say it taught you a lot? Or was it a waste of time? If you could go back to the stage I'm at now would you do the uni course route or experience route?

Hi, I've also applied for few mus industry management unis in London, I can't tell you if it's worth from experience but I think that you can learn something new, even you can learn by someone's mistakes rather than from your own. I think Uni is better choice than going out there and trying something by your own.
