Music while revising

What music do you listen to while revising?
Which music type do you think works best?

Slow instrumental or classical music seems to work best, and if that's not acceptable then at least music without lyrics as they do tend to distract you more. If the volume is turned down a little then that also helps as it becomes less intrusive. I like Bach, Schubert and Debussy
I dont listen to music while revising. It is a distraction for me.

I don't listen to music as I know I'll start singing and won't work  All my friends listen to music while they revise though and it seems to work for them.

Listen to anything really.

Rap, rock, pop, drum & bass, dubstep, metal. I can concentrate to most if not all - whilst taking notes (rather than maths) classical music is preferable
Radio Etiopia makes chilled, quasi-ambient podcasts that are great for study.

I listen to music whilst I'm doing questions or writing notes/ highlighting and whatnot but not whilst I'm trying to learn something. I can listen to mostly anything and still focus though I usually listen to Rock but I have a softer playlist just in case
Instrumental music works best for me, liquid dnb and house is preferred. I keep the volume down but the speed helps me to remain focused. Check out MrSuicideSheep mixes on youtube - got me through my degree.
Rainymood http://www.rainymood.com/ It works similar to white noise and helps me focus. That or music without lyrics, as others have said.
Only really listen to music when I do math work.

i don't listen to music when i am writing up essays or notes by hand but when i type notes up after writing them by hand i listen to music, i don;t have a specific type i listen to the most, just music i enjoy
I've recently found out about this thing called "ASMR". This is life changing for me lol. I've always found certain sounds relaxing, getting my hair cut and having someone draw on my back etc. I was researching banyas and came across this:

It relaxed the **** out of me so I started to click through to other videos.

This video is extremely creepy at first but really, really relaxing and good as a background noise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfMqt3SZ8RY

I've always found plane journeys very calming so I tend to listen to this whenever I revise:

Boards of Canada or a playlist of chilled stuff I like, like this

Only classical (but not opera - too distracting) and instrumental jazz. They really help!

Thanks for all your responses.
I'll check them out, I usually listen to melodic death/black metal while revising but was just wondering which would help keep my concentration for the longest amount of time.

I listen to house music garage etc etc edm.
Best way to do it, I think, is to put like an hour/two hour mix on so you don't have to change the song every so often, and you don't notice transistions between songs which distract you.
Just my two cents!

This is the best for revising, no doubt.

I went through 2 of his 2 and a half hour videos when doing my coursework one day
Ambient/progressive stuff

The catchy, repetitive melodies of Deadmau5 always help me work!

Ambient stuff like Burial, Aphex Twin and Boxcutter is always good as well!

Sometimes I play chillstep mixes in the background while working (non vocal though).
