Hi there,

As far as I know, a non-student could live in student housing providing the landlord agreed to it, but would still have to pay the council tax, as the individual wouldn't be in full time education.

I'm currently in second year, and a friend of mine last year wanted to move her fiancé into her rented house, in which she lived with 5 other students, to replace a housemate who was leaving. She decided against it however upon being told that she and her fiancé would be solely responsible for paying the council tax.

In conclusion, it is possible upon the landlord's approval, but isn't advisable unless you can afford the tax.
Hope this helps!
