There were a couple of students in our school who did not speak a word of Dutch and they took SL Dutch B, because there is no Dutch Ab initio, they had to take Dutch B. At the end, they got grades like a 5, which I consider a good grade for someone who did not speak Dutch at all, at the beginning of the IB course. So they learned enough to get a 5, in two years.
