EE Topic in Psychology - Hypnosis

Hi, i recently posted that i was going to be doing my EE in biology, with the same broad topic of hypnosis. but what i didn't know is that we're allowed to write the EE in any topic that the IB teaches. my impression was that i could only do subjects are being taught at my school. i spoke to the person in charge of the EE at my school, and it turns out i can do psychology, but it may be a problem since he has to find a certified supervisor. before that, he needs me to do a bit of research and come up with a research question.

i really want to do this topic, and i have to make a link between hypnosis and psychology. because i have never taken psychology, it may be a bit difficult for me to establish a relation between my topic and my subject.

can anyone help me in establishing this link?
i have not begun to seriously research my topic yet, but ive come up with a basic question on which i would like to build or modify. what do you think about: how does hypnosis have an affect on the human mind?

i know my question may be a bit broad, but right now its meant to be. i appreciate all comments, suggestions on how i can come up with a better question, because i know it's not perfect.

it's not the same topic. before i wanted to do hypnosis in biology, but that was before i found out i could do it in psychology. now i need to figure out a specific research question.

and no, psychology is not a course at my school, and there r no psych teachers.

I don't think you can do the EE on psychology then. I believe that one of the IB requirements is that you have a teacher to supervise. If there is no psychology teacher at your school, it is unlikely you will find any teacher who has teh ability to supervise your work.

yeah...even if you are allowed to do it, it mght creat some problems and make it difficult for you if you don't have a teacher specialist in the subject. so...check first whether it's feasible and which subject teacher will supervise you.

the guy in charge of the EE at my school said that im in a unique situation because im the only one who chose to do a subject that is not taught. because of this, he wants me to figure out my research question first, so that he can ask the faculty if anyone is willing to supervise me and help me with the question. this is why i need to figure out my question first, and somehow relate hypnosis to psychology.

he says that after i figure out a question, he will talk to his friend at the IB whether my question fits the regulations or requirements w/e, and then if it does, he will ask the faculty. he says that somebody probably has a degree or something in psychology, and would be able to supervise me.
