Understanding Prose - 40 marks - HELP!

Could someone give me some advice on this 40 mark essay question I've written. My teacher always says she's too busy, and I cannot really understand the mark scheme! I'm panicking, as I don't know if what I am doing is the right thing.

I'm on Edexcel exam board by the way.

Dear Ollie Gentle,
I think this piece is excellent with relevant quotations and detailed analysis. However, for a 40 mark question, it is too short. There should be at least more than 10 paragraphs.
