Major and minor courses

I have heard that you can do major and minor course at university. I would like to do medicine as my major and astronomy as my minor. Do i have to pay for the minor course, when should I apply for the minor course, is it through ucas application and how long will average minor course will be?

You can do major and minor courses for SOME subjects at SOME universities. Medicine is not one of them.
