chem formulas plzzzzzzzz help

hi i would like to know how to write chemical formulas


sodium bromide

sodium=+1
bromide=-1
NaBr

where do u get the charges from.how are they linked to the periodic table could some one explain it will be much appreciated.

Sodium has 11 e- in shells i.e. on the PT atomic no = 11.
Using the simplified 2, 8, 1 notation we see there is 1 e- in outer shell.

Bromine has atomic no of 35 thus 7 e- in outer shell.

lead has atomic number 82 thus four electrons in the outer shell...
