Can someone help me with the Cartesian curve of
X=2t+1 and y=8t^3 - 4 t^2

Rearrange x = 2t + 1 to make t the subject then substitute into the equation for y.

OK -you have the correct method, so go back and check your expansion. As the above poster says, if you can scan you answer we can help you find your slip if you can't spot it..
