The Student Room Group
Heya- I'm going to CSM to do my foundation this year. They still let you apply for accom even if you're doing foundation. I think the cheapest is about £91/pw - but it depends where you're college site is.

Here's the link for this years weekly rent on all Halls of Residence:

You can't apply for a student loan on foundation, but they do have FE busaries, which include hardship funds, as well as accomodation funds. These are mostly eligable to people who live independently away from parents/ provide their own income. You can also still get EMA, which is up to £30 a week which also helps a bit.
Here are some of the bursaries avaliable on this link:

I hope this helps you out. Feel free to ask me any questions as I've just been through applying for accomodation over the past few months. You can always email the Housing office staff who are normally really helpful. To specifically ask about hall fees/finance use this link:

For a general enquiry they have a form on the website:

oh how i'd like to have my parents pay for my accomodation. but they won't.
if i do go to london, i'll be applying for every bursary possible, but i thought you couldnt get loans at foundation level or am i wrong?
No you can't get loans for foundation as it still is classed as a further education course. All you can get are bursaries which you don't have to pay back! yay! I don't think you should have any trouble getting at least an accomodation bursary. A few days ago I recieved a letter telling me I had been awarded one for £2000- and I'm not living completely independently. I was also told I would get half-price fees- but I don't have to pay for the course anyway as I'm under 19.

£2000? Ooo more than i thought. I think i probably qualify for the maximum as me mam's income is pretty low. Very low in fact
