have you looked for any further education colleges in your area? they will take people over 16 wanting to do a levels.
I have checked with colleges offering BTECs but I have heard that you cannot get medicine at university with BTECs. I'm confused.

check the foundation medicine programmes. I dont think you will be accepted into *normal* medicine without A levels
So do I have to go to college and then go for a foundation medicine program?

look on the universities websites to see if BTEC is good enough for foundation programme.
Thanks. But could I do a levels at a college instead of doing BTEC?

Yes if you do a levels, you can enter a normal medicine course.

You're 17... why can't you go to sixth form?
One of my closest friends started sixth form at 17.

Thing is I'm turning 18 next month. I called a school in our neighbourhood and they said they couldn't get me in because of that.

A school is different to sixth form

My friend was 17 years old and 8 months, she took a 'gap year' after year 11.
Otherwise, you could always try and study them yourself and pay to take the exams.

It'll depend on whether it's a college or sixth form college. If the former, yes you'll most likely have to pay if they don't take you, which I still don't believe as most take those up to 19.

For college, no, provided it's a state funded college. For uni, yes, but you'd get a student loan to cover the tuition.
