Hi I'm Lisa.

University choices: UCL, LSE, KCL, Warwick, Queen Mary and maybe Oxford
What subject(s) are currently studying?: Maths, Economics, Government and Politics
LNAT: Haven't taken it yet
Predicted A2 grades: A*AA
AS grades: A in Maths, A in Biology (dropped it), B in Government and Politics, A in Economics internal exam
GCSE grades: 2A*s 7As 3Bs
Why Law?: I just find it very interesting. I took part in a mock trial in my local magistrates court in year 9 and knew that I wanted to study law and become a lawyer. I took GCSE Law and loved it. Work experience was amazing and really consolidated my decision.

Hi Lisa !!
I'm also applying to UCL, KCL, Queen Mary, Oxford (and Bristol). I take Maths, Law and Drama and my predicted grades are also A*AA.
Funnily enough, I also got 2A*S, 7A's and (2B's) for my GCSE's !
- may I ask, when is your LNAT/ have you done it already? and if so how did it go?
I see a common pattern: why are many people who are predicted A*A*A/A*AA only picking unis that have A*AA/AAA requirements? Isn't that risky?

Very. They risk having only two identical/close offers - and therefore no realistic Insurance.
Or just one offer.
Or none.

Please read the advice here : https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/university/apply/how-to-avoid-getting-five-university-rejections

Because the struggle is getting an offer in the first place rather than specifically meeting it. That's why people anxiously apply to 5 A*AA unis.

It is half-sensible in that you can use UCAS Extra should you get zero offers from the A*AA unis. But if you don't get A*AA on results day, and you're left trying to arrange a place in Clearing, you are in a bit of a pickle. You avoid one bad outcome: not getting any A*AA offers. But you expose yourself to another bad outcome: missing your offers and being left up **** creek without a paddle.

Not worth believing this folks - Unis are not 'lenient' for Law. They don't need to be.

I changed my mind about the unis I'm applying to it's now: Oxford, UCL, LSE, Warwick and Leicester. I'm taking my LNAT on the 19th October. Yours is today :0 Good luck!
University choices: Oxford, LSE (please!), UCL, Kings, Queen Marry
What subject(s) are currently studying?: I'm an international student from Malaysia and I'm taking the IB Diploma  HL: Chemistry, History, English Lang/Lit; SL: Chinese B, Math, Biology
LNAT: October 17th
Predicted IB grades: HL: 677 (in order listed above), SL: 777, total points: 44/45 (including the 3 core points)
AS grades: N/A
IGCSE grades: 7A*'s and 2As
Extracurriculars thats I included in my personal statement: 3 week law attachment at a local law firm, reading recommended reading list books- "Understanding Law" etc, participating in MUN, being a part of in various sports teams (basketball mostly), Head Girl, secretary of Student Council, Head of Journalism for Yearbook, playing the lead in the school play last year, reading newspapers such as Economist, BBC, etc.
Why Law?: As cringe as it sounds, I want to give people the chance to be heard. Suppression and being deprived of a voice is something I've battled with a lot throughout my school life (Asian school and hence its frowned upon to not conform and simply oblige) and hence I want to do something to fight against it (hopefully a future barrister specialising in criminal law/human rights law!). Love doing analysis and coming up with different interpretations which I think law does quite a bit off. I also enjoy the challenge law brings.

PS: Has anyone received any acknowledgement emails yet? Sent mine off Friday and I've heard back from UCL, Kings and Queen Mary. Still waiting on Oxford and LSE!

You know Durham LLB is A*AA right?
Hi I'm katie.
I'm applying to Warwick, nottingham, Cambridge, Sheffield and uni of Manchester.
My predicted A2 grades are: A*AA (history, economics and maths respectively)
My gcses are: 10As and 2A* (maths and further maths)
I got an A in as law and a B in as maths.

I'd like to study law because I really appreciate understanding how society works and the foundation of many people's lives. In addition, I find that there is many areas about the world in which I am a curious and I believe that law is a good way to further my understanding and make a change. I also would like to help people which could result in a career related to the law. Lastly, i find liability interesting but not just criminal, also contract. I also want to understand why lass are created and not removed when we begin to understand the consequences outweigh the benefits. ☺️

University choice: Durham, Northumbria, Newcastle, Sunderland and Northumbria with foundation just incase I do terrible. All Law and Sunderland and Northumbria are four years. Received offer from Newcastle so far. Got a reduced offer from Northumbria as I did NU entry and Durham reduced offer from A*AA to AAB. No offers from them from UCAS though. (Live in the north east and kinda have to stay here so thats why they're all in the same area, would have loved to have branched out a bit.)
What subject(s) are currently studying?: English Literature, Sociology and Psychology. Previously took Government and Poltics dropped it at AS.
LNAT: Dont need to do it as I passed Durham law school got reduced offer and don’t need to do LNAT.
Predicted A2 grades: AAB AS grades: Only did 1 (Politics, D)
GCSE grades: AAAAAAABBBC
Why Law?: Since about year seven I got introduced to a solicitor ever since then wanted to become one. Done wider reading, work placements and a lot of research to become the solicitor I want to be. Strong passion for women and human rights so drives me to want to have some influence within these areas.

Hey guys I am a mature applicant(21yrs) from India and want to apply for my second undergraduate degree in law in 2018. So my grade 12 result ( I think that's equivalent to a levels in the UK) was fairly good - I scored 95% in 4 subjects ( maths , english , economics and accounts ) and 97% in business studies. I completed my first undergraduate degree in commerce this year and achieved first class honours (71%) I am currently a first year student in Campus law centre , which is among the top law schools in India after securing an All India Rank of 493 out of almost 20,000 applicants but I am looking to make a change. Do you think my application is competitive enough for oxbridge ?

Your results are good and instead of applying to study Law by 2018, have you considered the option of a GDL? You may not have to go through the 3 year process of getting a LLB..
I have just sent of my ucas but am awful at waiting. I have acknowledgment from all of my choices and an offer from Bristol. I've been at pathways to law at Bristol and received an AAB offer for completing it. Bristol is amazing and the law course and school is very prestigious, however, I don't want to get 4 rejections and be forced to go there without any choice. I've applied to KCL, LSE, UCL , and Durham. However, I didn't get very strong GCSEs regarding what these schools usually expect, 1A* 5As 2Bs 2Cs. I was disappointed. Nonethless, I've worked very hard over the first year of sixth form and been predicted 3 A*s at A2, having achieved AAAB at As. All of the A grades were over 90% also. Yet, are the schools I'm applying to going to look at my gcses a lot to assess me? And will they hold me back despite being predicted top grades?
University choices: Oxford, Durham, Bristol, Warwick (not chosen a fifth yet)
What subject(s) are currently studying?: Politics, History, Economics, Biology
LNAT: Taken
Predicted A2 grades: D1, D2, A*, A (equivalent to A*A*A*A)
AS grades: A in Politics (only AS)
GCSE grades: 10A*
University choices: Durham, Bristol, Nottingham, Warwick, Leeds (is picking 3 LNAT unis a good balance?)
What subject(s) are currently studying?: Maths, Business, Biology and EPQ
LNAT: November
Predicted A2 grades: A*A*A
AS grades: AA
GCSE grades: 5A*s 6As
Why Law?: I find it very interesting from my work experience and extra reading.

Well done with your grades so far, reckon you have a really good chance with all those universities! I've also applied to 3 LNAT universities, none of the same as you but think it's a good balance. Good luck to you!
