THE MAIN CAUSE OF THE CRASH WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANTI AUSTERITY MEASURES (ALTHOUGH IT COULD HAVE PLAYED A PART AS SPENDING TENDS TO DO IN THE ECONOMY) IT WAS CAUSED HEAVILY BY THE AMERICAN HOUSING MARKET SO SAY MANY OF THE TOP ECONOMISTS ALTHOUGH IF WE HAD BEEN MORE CAREFUL WITH OUR MONEY WE MIGHT HAVE LESSENED THE BLOW OF IT, OR IF WE HAD MEASURES IN PLACE TO DEAL WITH IT, THESE MEASURES MAY HAVE BEEN AUSTERITY OR OTHER THINGS

So in other words, the crash was nothing to do with government spending.
