erm i wouldn't say i've read anything about those colleges being the most social out of all the cambridge colleges....but are these what you've narrowed your choices down to?

i'd say emma...purely because it's in the centre of town, famous, blah blah
pop
which is the most 'social' college?

Homerton and Girton are both miles away.

Emma, or Peterhouse, because as priya says, they're close to the centre.

I get the impression Emma's really competitive though, so Peterhouse may be more fun

That might be the very thing that makes them social, whereas the colleges in the city centre could lose their sociability because of pubs and clubs.

very true. however, pop, what do mean by social exactly? as the members all socialise together, or the college is very social within the whole university itself?

Well, Emma's bar is fairly legendary, though I've never been there myself. At the moment it seems to be THE place to be, but is accordingly very competitive. Peterhouse bar has been verging on dead the last few times I've been there (although one was in the middle of exam period, so everywhere was), but as it's small, everyone knows everyone, and it's really friendly. I know little about Homerton apart from that it's 80% girls, and Girton is a long way away (so sucks getting home if you're pissed ) but I'm sure this doesn't make them social recluses.

I'm growing fonder of emma as the day goes by~ i mean they have to have interesting people there! Their intorduction quote is actually "We have ducks so we must be good" ~ lol

Emma is my 1st choice for the college~ It looks really kool n' people there are just too friendly for their own good (not as if i'm complaining~lol)!

I never said Emma was bad. I just laughed at your ridiculous amounts of Fresher patriotism when you've never even been there (apart from the obvious).

some of the rooms (in the big north wing/block/court i think it's called) look like something directly out of hogwarts...proper windy staircases, isolated rooms at the top, everything

I think you must have missed Trinity Hall off the list by mistake. We do have legendry ents, are right on the river but also near the centre of town and are genuinely lovely people.

How on earth Peterhouse, Girton and Homerton got on the list, I'll never know!

 I'll just put that one down to some sort of jealousy, as Clare bops obviously aint as good... ...though to save myself, I'll have to say that their music/comedy nights are quite good, the Cellars is a nice setting

Plus, our JCR is an extension to the bar, and brings it up to standard... It gives a bit of breathing space/somewhere to sit!

Out of the list given, I'd pick Emma, because of its bar...dont know/havent heard much about the rest.

I haven't been to any of your bops, but ours are good so  Why would I be jealous of a postage stamp bar? And it is minuscule, even if the actual JCR makes it a bit bigger. Cellars has the best atmosphere though, even if the ceiling is too low for dancing on the benches properly

Well, likewise

Ur bar isnt exactly the size of Wetherspoons (the Regent/Regal!), its a bit bigger in the bar area, but it is just mostly the Cellar, which looks like the setting of an Undeground rave !! ..and we do have bits which become platforms for those daring drunk ppl
