One of my EPQ ideas, is it alright?

I don't know if I'm going with this one just yet, but I had an idea for my EPQ that concerned films that leave elements of ambiguity and fan theories centering those films. The easiest film to focus on should I choose this idea is John Carpenter's The Thing, but considering the gory matter of the film, I don't know if it's a risk I should take, or if I should go for another film. I was going to discuss the Childs theory (I won't go into detail on what that is because Spoilers (Although this is a film from the 80s). Is this a good idea? Keep in mind it's one of many I have had, so I might not go with it in the end.
