How to revise a poetry anthology (A Level)?

Hi,

English Lit is generally an absolute nightmare for me but the one thing that I especially can't get to grips with is approaching poetry.

Has anyone got any tips on how to revise poems and in general endeavour to make insightful comments about the poets' craft?

(for those who care I'm on Edexcel and studying "Poems of the Decade"
