80mph on the m1

Hi there,

I’ve been driving for a few months and I fear that I drove threw some cameras on the m1 at around 80mph without realising. However I have heard that it is possible to get away with this. I also am very concerned as to how many points I would get on my Lisence?? Any response would be very much appreciated!

In west Yorkshire the threshold is 10% of speed limit plus 2 mph where they will charge. Well that's what I've been led to believe.

You don’t need to worry until they send you a letter through your postbox. If it’s your first offence in years, you don’t have to take points, you can take a mandatory safety training day and pay a fine but not have any points.
