Just got rejected for London, with 98 numerical 70 verbal 70 SJT ... Bit disappointed the threshold must be really high considering previous posters scores
I know, it a bit disheartening, but its fine. It happens. I think the whole Success Profile has played a part in all these changes - because people are getting rejected left right and centre.

All of those with high overall SJT score but got rejected - did you score low in any of the areas?

It says there's supposed to be 56 Assessment Centres this year! I just don't see how that makes any sense when the pass mark is set at 80%. I know from past years very few people achieve that, and alot excell much better at VI stage but now won't get that chance.

11k+ people applied this year I think. If they are only letting through the top 20% that's still 2,200 VI's to mark!

May I ask whether you scored 'weak' in any of the success criteria within the SJT if you can remember? I just find it hard to believe the pass mark is a flat 78/80% for SJT given past years and how many that would wipe out.

Tbh i did score weak in numerical 40% but I know some that scored 78% on numerical and 69% on SJT and still not through

If they're doing the top 20% through to video interview it would make sense the pass mark be 80 if they ordered us by sjt. I remember I scored below average in one area, think it was delivering an effective service, but most were strong.

This is very true, but more people have applied in past years, where the pass mark has been high 60's so I'm clutching at straws with explanations really. I think they could be using individual scores within the SJT if that makes sense as my top choice was Bham and I haven't been rejected yet.

This is what I'd assume. Here is the amount of applicant's and location's again. I think they are doing it on a location by location basis.

Still expecting a rejection now with my 69%!

They hired loads in 2015! Especially considering the number of applicants relative to other years.

Unlucky mate. What were your scores again?

They’re are doing it by SJT, the other two tests you just had to meet the minimum.

The reason being is the other two where banked scores for some people. If there was any inclination they where going to raise them- you’d have to be given a chance to sit them fresh.

Rejected btw- Liverpool
Verbal-87
Numerical-95
SJT-46

I think the pass mark is like 77+. Highest I’ve seen is 76 rejection

Yes but they may be taking into account individual sub results within the sjt, I.e rejecting anyone that received less than standard on one of the success profile competencies if that makes sense.

It just makes you wonder how previous year scores have been so much lower with similar number of places available in total at least.

I know. I thought the pass rate would be higher!

I don’t think they look into individuals competencies within SJT... It’s all dashboard based the recruitment in HMRC now I think so they filter GSI out, work out how many places left, then sort by SJT top to bottom until they have the required amount.

And if they were rejecting them based on not passing one of the comps within the SJT then pass mark would be lower not higher overall

My online thing has just changed to ‘application under review’ and my feedback tab is back. Still not heard anything though.
I got an interview invite.
Take it back! Just had an interview offer! Must be based on location because my SJT was 73%
What was ur location

What was ur location

Manchester 1st and Liverpool 2nd
Just got an invite, Manchester 69% SJT
Mine was Birmingham 1st and Nottingham 2nd. But as I applied through the GIS, not sure how they filter it out
