Gaming Course To "Accounting, Banking, Finance" University??

Hello,

Time to choose what course I want to do for college. I know I'm late in choosing but there were some issues I had to deal with before starting my education again.

I have my heart set on going to university and doing a financial trading and investment management course, (Accounting, banking and finance). Would it be smart for me to do a "Games Development BTEC level 3 course" to get me to qualify to enroll for that university? My reason behind this is because both use computers in a very technical way, also I love computer science and games, and I am in love with trading.. Would i be better of doing a business course? Hopefully I am able to do the gaming course and enter my uni. Please let me know!

Thank you all

Look at the target courses you are interested in and what their entrance requirements are for.

You need good grades to get into better unis.
More unis will accept A levels and good A levels will get you into better unis. I would choose A levels including Maths.

If you want to do BTEC thats up to you but it wont be as well regarded as A levels by many unis. If you are good at it and can get good grades then it could still get you onto your target course. You have to research the unis you are interested in as at the moment that is a very large area and will covers hundreds of courses.

If I could do A levels, I would. I do not meet the entry criteria for the subjects I want to do for the sixth forms around my area, (Computer Science, Business, Economics) All require a 6 in maths, I was limited to a 5 in foundation. I've looked and searched for a while now, BTEC is my only option.

I would be amazing at IT Game development, and I would enjoy it. Not sure if it would be good to apply for a Forex university course (Business, Finance, investments)

I could do business.. But I wouldn't enjoy it as much I dont think.. Business studies just doesnt get my blood pumping, whereas game development does.. If I meet the entry requirements for the University, (DMM) for IT Gaming BTEC, would I be accepted? OR would I be declined even if I meet the criteria? Hopefully you can see where I'm coming from..

You need to find the degree courses and work backwards. If its investment banking then you will see a lot of talk about target and semi target unis which tend to be up with the elites or high RG. Talk to princepieman as he has the insight you will need.

You would be considered, but they look at everything else as well.

hey
Make sure you make the correct decision.
Look up unis you want to go to and see what they require for you to get in, and see if they are doing it.
