Waitlisted by St Andrews - what to expect?

Hi guys,

I applied for the MLitt International Security Studies at StA and just got notified last week that my application has been waitlisted. When I called, they would not say anything more except that I should keep in touch if my situation changed (aka offers from other schools I needed to accept/decline) and otherwise I would hear from them some time in early April.

Does anyone here have any experience with being waitlisted by StA? I know that the IR courses are really competitive and I just don't have any idea whether it is even realistic I might still receive an offer in April.

I'll definitely be applying to my other choices now (Trinity College Dublin, Warwick, Cambridge, maybe Durham, Exeter, Bristol), but I thought I'd check if anyone has had a similar experience.

Btw, I'll be graduating next summer with an expected first in business.
