What Americanisms do you really dislike?

I actually prefer using the word center rather than centre, like the spellings fit nicely, the British version seems a lot like it was spelt in French.
Other than that, not bothered, the only thing I am bothered by is America's geo-politics...as are many.
Using 'a' instead of 'an' before a word beginning with vowel, makes me uncomfortable. Not that it exactly bothers me but I cringe when I see it

it is almost as bad as

"i lucked out" :mad:

any normal person would think this means "my luck ran out", whereas in the US & A it means the exact opposite :mob:

Probably this. I've only heard it a few times but it really doesn't sound right when a British person is saying it.

The upward inflection thing- I wouldn't say it annoys me massively but I definitely notice it more now. I went through a phase in my teens where I picked this habit up. My mum used to always point it out & have a go at me whenever I did it..
