I've had student finance before. I did a HND course, so two years of student finance. However I failed the course so ultimately didn't get the qualification. Now I'm applying for university - does this count as my first degree? Do I get any years funded with a tuition loan, and if so which ones? Would I be eligible for a maintenance loan (assuming my household income is below the threshold)? Ty.

Yes

You would get a maintenance loan for all years of the new course.

You will not a tuition fee loan for the first year of the new course (but the other years will get tuition fee loans).

If you have evidence that you left your HND due to compelling personal reasons (mental illness, physical illness, bereavement etc) then you might be able to get tuition fee loan for your first year too.
