Not sure about the reputation of the course, and it's debatable whether there reliable metrics to measure 'reputation', but the teaching was excellent when I was there doing my MA during 2016-17.

The Politics Department had a distinctive identity with the GPS (School of Geography, Politics and Sociology) due to the Politics building, which was right next to the main library. Sadly, I heard that this is no longer the case, and that the Politics department has been moved to what used to be Claremont Tower.
