It could definitely affect your chances as it will be all about comparing your ability to those who are also applying to that med school which if they were doing bio, chem and maths, for example, it may make them look better. This is by no means the only factor though as you can make yourself stand out in other ways with MOOC's or work experience or a whole host of other things.
