The Student Room Group

You’re right but I would go a step further : the internet should only be for young people. There should be restrictions on internet use for those over 30.
People need to stop assuming that just because there’s the word student in the name of the site that this is only for students. Let’s face it, the overwhelming majority of active users are here for non-academic related reasons, mainly for chat, socialising and blogging. And that kind of thing obviously appeals to all age groups.
Why can’t people in their 40s do both? :bootyshake:
The mixing of different age groups isn’t inherently inappropriate. If you see inappropriate behaviour then report it, simple as. As I said, a website with so many different sections that don’t relate to academic is going to attract a much broader slice of age demographics. If TSR were just about academics it would be so dull and the business would have failed by now.

I agree. People in their 40s aren't sufficiently mature to give good advice...

Forgot @Compost too!

I got fed up with our students saying 'but it says on TSR...' and then coming out with total rubbish so I decided to tackle the problem at its source and joined to give better advice. (And I'm sadly no where near 40)

I’m willing to learn :cry2:

You’re too old to learn
I don’t see why it would be creepy unless they were actually displaying creepy behaviour. And if someone enjoys using this site they’re unlikely to suddenly stop the second they’re no longer a student. Even you may remain once your student days are over...

You're middle aged in your TSR life.

If prejudiced was a subset of ageist then you could QED me but alas, on this occasion your proof has failed.

I shall rephrase. You are ageist. Ageism is a type of prejudice. Therefore you are prejudiced
