Anyone else prefer pornography to sex?

It's not just because it's less effort and available whenever.

I just don't feel attracted to 95% of young women my age who I see in real life.

You got a serious problem my bro quit watching porn I promise you the women around you will become 100% more attractive
Sounds like something an addict would say :holmes:
there's probably 2 reasons why (this is my own opinion, i'm no sexual health expert)

- you're sexual needs are selfish. sounds harsh, but you only care about what you get out of sex so why have a partner/another person when the rewards you enjoy can be easily fulfilled by masturbation(?). i mean we're all selfish people but i get turned on when i watch my partner enjoying sexual pleasure and i enjoy it even more when i'm the person doing it and that's something you can never get from porn. sex is not a 1-party job; it's mutual satisfaction but you masturbating so much has made you self-reliant on your own sexual pleasure

- you fetishize certain things about woman from what you've seen from porn. porn isn't REAL; it's always scripted, exaggerated and sets a false narrative on what you should expect from sex (who really ****s their step-sister??). you don't find lots of women attractive because you have a very specific type of woman who you'd like to ****, generated from the many times you've watched and analysed porn

just stop watching it, it's dangerous stuff and it will ruin ur life

Building on this pornography addiction is a real thing, and its effects are only now beginning to be realised. They probably won't be fully established for many years as the WHO are too busy adding 'gaming addiction' and removing *realised I cant say that on tsr* from the list of mental illnesses.

couldn't agree more!! this porn addiction is serious life-long sh*t and it's not only damaging the mindset of people who watch it but also anyone who gets into a relationship with avid porn watchers. i hope some more research and awareness is going into this because people as young as 9/10 are watching it and they have no idea that it's ruining their life

Exactly all it takes is an innocent google search for a child to come across it or some kids might mention it as school sparking curiosity. It's a disgusting industry and I'd estimate that over 50% of men have an addiction to it.

i'm female and i remember when i was in year 7/8, i got back home from school and searched up "porn" on google search because people in my class were talking about it and i was curious as to what it was (i had no idea at this time). it was shocking how easy it was to access (i literally clicked on the first site and saw people f*cking, lol my innocence stripped in a second by simple curiosity) but i guess i'm lucky because it wasn't appealing to me so i never developed an addiction or explored this curiosity to a crazy extent, (i masturbate very occasionally but only to help me sleep and its never to porn)

I was exposed to it around yr 6 I think a friend told me about it or something but searching things a curious kid might search led to my accidental discovery around it properly in yr7. If you add testosterone to what you just said it can very quickly shape into an addiction. Imagine having a pack of cigarettes in your pocket at all times and the lighter being just a couple of taps on your phone it's dangerous. Luckily as a Muslim I was able to discipline myself away from watching any form of it, but having said that I can say quitting smoking was much easier.
Addiction mate. Watch some Russel Brand videos about it.

Hit the nail on the head with the first one.

However point 2 doesn't really apply to me, I'm as vanilla as they come.

Interestingly, I think porn has made me realise I'm actually Bi - probably the only upside lol.

very well said. i'm also muslim and i'm ashamed that i masturbate sometimes (it's nothing crazy, like maybe once every 2 months if i can't sleep) but i'm lucky that i'm disciplined enough to not have developed an addiction.

i think it's important people don't shame others for watching porn or having addictions because you never really know how hard it is unless you're in that position (like you said, if I was more hormonal in year 7, i might have been seriously addicted) and I'm grateful that i haven't been tested in such a way because I don't know if I would've had the courage to fight it. i know muslims who go to uni and drink for the first time because their flatmates have alcohol in the fridge and they're curious to what it tastes and feels like. normally they wouldn't go out their way and buy alcohol from a shop because its expensive and requires effort, but when it's available, free and right in front of you, it's easy to see where the temptation stems from.

moral of the story: don't be curious lol

I think you should definitely stop watching it and maybe seek some professional help since this is quite a serious addiction.

Curiosity is from the shaitan I can say that
It's nothing to be ashamed of it's makruh not haram, but pornography is absolutely haram just be happy you dont watch it

The addiction seems to be less common among women but it is definitely prevalent, and absolutely introduction, curiosity and even peer pressure can influence people into doing things they told themselves they never would.

Sex is good. But porn has it's own place. I've never stopped watching it not even when I was getting regular sex from an attractive and accommodating GF.

Addictions are powerful....
The fakery of porn is not appealing to me. I’d rather speak to a real woman any day. It’s the unpredictability of it and the chase that make it more exciting that porn could ever be
