I want need advice on laptops

So My uni exams are online next week, so far I’ve been using an iPad to do everything, I’m not sure if it’s enough and if I’ll need a laptop too,
If so, do any of you’s know what is the best laptop for uni work with a fast processor?
Like my budget can be £500-600

What do you need a laptop to be able to do that you can't do on an iPad?

Like Microsoft office applications such as excel

It’s a bit more complicated on iPad
And sometimes it’s more difficult to download files on iPad

I see. In that case, I would just get the cheapest possible laptop (Chromebook, maybe?) for this purposed and just use your iPad for everything else.
