As per title, doxing is a serious issue on the Web.

What steps can we take to prevent ourselves from being doxed?

Make everything about you publicly available beforehand, then no one can dox you since there is no non-public information about you to find. :cool:

Don't put yourself in a position where someone may want to doxx you.

This is only really an issue for popular (or unpopular, depending on perspective) streamers, media creators, and somewhat public figures.

Can also be an issue if you like to get yourself involved in heated online debates - just avoid those, they are not worth your time and effort.

Use different usernames (and ideally different emails) for every account you have to prevent them from being linked. Put up as little information about you as possible online (putting up fake information would be even better for your opsec, as long as its consistent).

People get doxxed all the time even when taking the right precautions so I would also recommend staying away from communities where doxxing is common and not doing anything remotely controversial on the web.

1) Don't post any selfies/photos/videos of yourself nor your local area and workplaces.

2) Use different usernames, emails and passwords for all online accounts.

3) Stay away from the dark web, lookism & incel forums, hacker sites, 4chan, twitter, the manosphere, ashley madison, onlyfans, porn and fetish sites.

4) Switch your social media accounts to private and be cautious about accepting requests from people you don't know that well or who seem to be a bit weird on facebook & linkedin.

5) Consider using a VPN or asking your ISP to change your internet address every few months.
