When did shaving down below become a thing

Just curious but when did shaving your public hair really become a thing, in like the 70s every girl rocked out a bush but I feel like it is almost a thing of the past now with most girls shaving down there
Since 1920?
I imagine when pron magazines came about and razors were introduced.
Has occurred since ancient times.
In ancient egypt, rome and much of asia many women removed all of their body hair.
Often including the hair on their heads.
Using a combination of methods including beeswax, pumice stones, primative copper razors, shells and sugar waxxing.

In 1914, Harper’s Bazaar was the first of the women’s magazines to run hair removal advertisements.
Gillette created the Milady Décolleté razor for ladies in 1915.
The introduction of the bikini in 1946 encouraged more women to consider shaving.
During the 1950s, Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine focused upon very scantily clad playmate models who were clean-shaven and depicted as prime example of american female beauty & sex appeal.
Brazilian wax salons began opening offering ladies a complete range of wax hair removal services from 1987.

I can't belive guys were ok with that back in the day because men today can't stand it.

I don't blame them.
I think it became the norm back in the 1990s.

That’s fair enough for girls but men need to keep their hair ffs. Hairy is manly. Enough with shaving underarms and down there, looking like prepubescent kids ffs.
Nothing wrong with a woman having a bush down there tbh.

Long story short, Its an internet porn thing.
One character in the sopranos who got out after a decade in jail commented on it.
Mainstream 'top shelf' porn magazines until they were put out of business by the internet porn industry usually had models with pubic hair or 'brazilian trims'
).I rock my natural hair and wouldn’t be with a guy who thinks women should be clean shaven. It’s such a turn off if that’s their stance. I also like my partners to stay natural too. Nothing worse than a stubbly shaved man’s chest and bald testicles.
I started shaving before the end of secondary school

Some men are way too hairy though. I wish more men shaved especially down there. I don’t want to be ‘participating’ snd get mouthfuls of hair.
Probably around the same time they realised that odour clings to body hair and generates some pretty pungent odours.

God knows, a sexual health nurse I bumped in to says she barely sees a hairy pie these days. Unnecessary, uncomfortable, even slightly creepy
