How can I get work experience as a Music therapist?

I’m currently in year 12 and would like to get a feel for what it would be like to work in this sector. If anyone has any websites or organisations they could send over that would be great
You might want to keep refreshing this page, in case the 'brief introduction' courses for 2023 are advertised and there are spaces: https://www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/training/short-courses/ .

I don't know whether it's possible to shadow a therapist for a week or so, but you could always write to Nordoff Robbins and ask

You may also wanna see if Live Music Now have anything in your area: https://www.livemusicnow.org.uk/ . (They're not strictly music therapy in the way Nordoff Robbins is, but still a good insight into this kinda work  )

No worries! It's important to stress that you can't study music therapy as an undergrad degree - so even if you know that's what you're interested in, it'll be OK if you can't fix up any work experience before you submit your UCAS form
