Does it always feel like top universities are against BTECS ?

For example, im an engineering student doing a BTEC, lets say Uni of sheffeild they ask for D*DD in mechanical engineering or DDD for a foundation year. Aswell as GCSE's at Grade 7 and Science Grade 6. This was out of the question for me since my GCSE results being during covid so not entirely accurate.

Uni like Loughborough aswell ask for D*D*D with an Additional A level in maths being an A. Which in itself already sounds way to much work for one student to be able to do.
