Bristol Freshers Week

I’m hoping to attend Bristol uni this upcoming September, I’m currently in a few offer holder chats and I see that most people have already bought/are buying tickets to attend parties and such. I’m not really a fan of these activities since I’m an introvert and don’t like socialising events, especially if they involve partying, crowds, pubs and alcohol etc. However, I’m worried that if I don’t attend, it’ll be more challenging for me to make friends as I'm an international student and I won’t know a single person there, and I’m desperate to mingle with more people when school starts in Sept. I really want to make more friends in Bristol, otherwise my time there will be so tough as I’m already leaving behind everything I’ve ever known. Does the university organise any freshers events that is compulsory for all to attend, such as playing games during orientation etc and dividing freshers into groups for activities so I won’t have to join any extra add-on ones? I’ve heard from some previous Bristol freshers that during freshers week they weren’t really sure what and when different sorts of events would be held beforehand, and they just kind of had to find out for themselves lol. Any advice would be appreciated xx
A lot of these people in group chats are just there to sell wristbands/tickets and sometimes not even students!

Look on Bristol SU website for official events and will no doubt find a range of events.

I'm in the same boat too! There looks to be loads of daytime or evening events on the SU website that look like quite a good time!

I'm the same here! clubbing and partying isn't my thing but equally I feel as though the majority of people will use those events to socialise and find new people, so it would be nice to meet people that are like-minded
