You can say how in both poems, the subject reflects on their childhood memories and they have a powerful effect, in kamikaze the father reflects on his peaceful childhood memories, they overpower his devotion to the mission and this ultimately leads him to abandon his mission for the sake of peace, in emigree the subject remembers her childhood in such a fond light that it overpowers anything she hears about her country, she continues to remember it as a place full of light.
