career following environmental science degree

Hello
I’m thinking about studying environmental science with the Open University as a 39 year old mature student.
I want to ensure before starting that there is gainful employment following this degree or if there are so many ES graduates it’s very competitive and difficult to find work? The OU didn’t really give me an answer to this and said I’d have to speak with the National careers service
Also, is anyone studying this course with the OU already that can tell me if the course is run well?
Thank you

Hi

Speaking as someone who studied Environmental Science with the OU, I've never had a problem getting work in the ES sector. It will help if you can get some experience (either paid or unpaid) in the sector. Also, bear in mind that salaries can vary, with a lot being (in my opinion) very much at the low end.

Take a look at the Environment Job website for some ideas: https://www.environmentjob.co.uk/jobs?gclid=CjwKCAjwx_eiBhBGEiwA15gLN8zfQ2_5RHziX721-ZLO3b7GE_clvgXELsdWxBAnO3t0B-1jZUlC2hoCspYQAvD_BwE
