Best unis with fashion week presence

Hello!! What are the best unis in England for fashion branding/mkt that has a strong fashion week presence, outside of london?? I've applied for media studies but was advised to look for better options, but I don't know where to start! I'm baaaad at math, so it has to be a BA rather than a Bsc! Thanks!!

Hi @marcellasm,

I’m a current Fashion Design student at Birmingham City University. The fashion and textiles department here at BCU is great! I looked at courses all over the country but found BCU the best choice for me due to the tutors and the success of previous students.

Although I don’t study Fashion Branding/Marketing, we have two courses here at BCU that may interest you…
BA(Hons) Fashion Branding and Communication
https://www.bcu.ac.uk/courses/fashion-branding-and-communication-ba-hons-2024-25

BA(Hons) Fashion Business and Promotion
https://www.bcu.ac.uk/fashion-and-textiles/courses/fashion-business-promotion-ba-hons-2023-24

The links are both there for the course pages if you’d like to take a look.

I don't know about the London Fashion Week connections, but the fashion department at BCU has strong industry links, successful alumni, and a strong presence at Graduate Fashion Week, London.
Any questions, please ask as I’d love to help you find a course that best suits you.
Good luck with your search,
Emily

You can see previous winners for graduate fashion week awards on their website https://www.graduatefashionfoundation.com/the-gfw22-award-winners

If you’re looking at branding/comms then the publication/media awards are more relevant than the catwalk/design awards.

These people are studying fashion branding/fashion marketing degrees not general media degrees. If you want the opportunity to have your work featured in GFW then a generic media degree will not be a good choice.

Hello! thank you so much for the message! The problem is... I don't know yet what I want to do in the comms area! I just know I want to study that! However, about the publication/media awards, where do I see those? In the graduate site as well? I'll see if I can still apply to one of those, I'm just scared that I don't get to chose another area because I've not decided yet! Help me, please!! 🙏
