GCSEEnglishLang- Can i write a story now and tweak it to fit question in the exam?

English Language paper 1 on Monday and I'm really struggling with the creative writing. Would it work if i were to write a story now and then just manipulate it slightly to fit the brief in the exam, as usually they're quite broad? I've been through all the past papers and it seems it may work. Is this a safe idea? Has anyone else ever done this before and did it work? Exam board is AQA. Thank you

ye this totally works. I went into the exam with a few character ideas in mind and a few vague story ideas and as soon as I got the question I just changed the scenario to fit it
