What happens if you go late to an offical exam (GCSE/A LEVEL)

If you come in say 5 minutes late will they still give you the same amount of time as everyone else or will they not let you sit it at all?

usually they would wait until everyone arrives to start an exam in my school so they would phone any students not in and see how much longer they'll take. if you arrive after it starts they would still give you the full time for us

Someone arrived half an hour late the other day at our school and were allowed the full amount of time as the others to complete their exam

They should do, if you are more than an hour late from the official start time listed on the exam board's timetable then I do not believe you would be able to sit the exam.
