Does spelling affect your a level exams?

Ever since my mum died my spelling has been horrible ive told the school i needed extra time for my exam but they said i couldnt because it was only a spelling problem which is really annoying. So im just wondering will i get marked down for spelling because when i cant check my spelling i mix up alot of words

It depends on the course, i'm really sorry for your loss!
If you do essay based subjects then probably (don’t know for sure though because I don’t do any), but if not then it probably won’t affect you massively.
No, small spelling errors won't affect your A-levels for the most part. In English, we have an assessment objective known as AO1 where we could be deducted marks if our writing isn't "fluent" but that's the most essay subject out there, so I wouldn't worry if you do something like economics or anything STEM related.

Its okay thank you. And its for religious study and sociology and im pretty sure i mispelled words like critise instead of the correct spellin which would be criticise
