How to make timelines for history?

I am currently in year 10 Edexcel history and i've seen a lot of people recommend making timelines to revise for history. However i'm not too sure how to make them. Any advice on how to make them would be appreciated. And if you have any tips on making flashcards/finding information to make flashcards that would also be helpful but it isn't as crucial.

1- write down all the key events/facts/dates in chronological order from the textbook
2- summarise them and try join some together
3- then make the timeline

Thanks a ton for the help! The examples are unbelievably helpful and should help me figure out how to structure the timelines.
