Do I only need a monitor/desktop / keyboard/ mouse?

Hi, I’m trying to get my first computer and am really new to this, would I only need to buy a monitor, desktop and mouse/keyboard or do I need additional cables too? Please let me know I’m so lost right now

Also does it matter if my monitor is Samsung and desktop is Acer?

Anything I should look out for Like Gb/ram?

Im going to do medicine so yeah keep that in your mind

It doesn't matter the brand of keyboard, mouse, monitor they will all work together. Cables you would need is HDMI so you can connect your monitor to the desktop and 2 kettle cables. One to power monitor and one for the desktop.

What is your budget for a desktop? Take you want a desktop and not a laptop.

GB I assume your looking at storage options, RAM I would suggest around about 8GB minimum.

Yes it will. I've never bought a PC from a shop, mine have always been custom built.

Do you have any idea what you want? As I'm sure you've been looking for a PC. Can you post the link?
