Applying to vet school

Just wondering if there’s any advice on how to give myself the best opportunity of competing with other vet school students with a predicted 2:1/ 2:2 degree in applied zoology and conservation BSc Hons? I have a lot of work experience and background experience that’s valuable, but evidently I won’t be on the same par as a student with a first class degree/ straight A’s. Just wondered if there was any way to make myself stand out and hopefully be considered? Many thanks
