what can i compare to dracula? (a level english literature)

ive been thinking about comparing it to dr jekyll and mr hyde, but im not too sure what themes other than the gothic link them together. do u have any other suggestions about other books and how i could compare them?

Do you have a free choice? Can you use shorter texts? If you need something C19th, might Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla work?

I personally think you could have a lot of fun looking at Angela Carter's Bloody Chamber - the Lady of the House of Love is obvious, but there is a lot you could do with the sly fun that Carter pokes at the 'mysterious dangerous aristocrat in a distant castle' and the comparisons between two very different rescuers.

I'd love to know what you end up choosing!
