RAF selection interview

Hi 😁
Just wanted to write a post to give anyone advice if they have an upcoming selection interview with the Royal Air Force as when I tried to find anything about it and what to expect it was all outdated.

So I had my interview yesterday online on video call with my recruiter.
I’ve applied as intelligence analyst so interviews might be different I don’t know how that works.

1. The first part of the interview was all about myself and what responsibilities I’ve had at home and work.
They also asked about sporting achievements and clubs and the ‘most adventurous thing I have done’.
Basically it’s all about you and things that you have done in the last five years.
(Definitely prepare for these questions and don’t waffle and be prepared to talk about hobbies and sport)
2. The second part of the interview was all about the Royal Air Force as a whole.
I got questions like…. What is the role of the RAF?, Name some UK stations and their role, Name current oversea RAF stations(eg akrotiri, ascension islands, etc) , Name 5 aircraft’s and their role…
3. The third part was all about YOUR specific role and where you will train (etc RAF Halton and Chicksands for me) and how long these courses last.
I was also asked about deployment length for my role and about reserve and contract times. (These may differ for everyone).
4. The last part of the interview was questions they have to ask about whether you’ve taken any drugs before (lol say no)
Or if you’ve ever been in trouble with the police.
They then asked questions like ‘what are your thoughts on taking someone’s life?’ Etc so be prepared to give a good answer for these.

I was told i passed right after my interview 😁
Also ps if you don’t know an answer to something as I didn’t sometimes just say that and don’t try to lie your way through as they will know.

They asked about current RAF operations UK and overseas. I named only Two UK operations and one overseas and passed that part of my interview.

Hi, I am currently waiting on my selection interview dates after passing my DAA. Other than the question about what my thoughts on taking someone's life are, are there any other similar questions that they asked you that I should prepare for?

I'm planning on going for the same role. How was the interview? Any advice or pointers for this aspect in regards to preparation etc, thanks

They always used to ask about news topics at interview, and more importantly your opinions on what was going on in the UK and globally.

Affairs they don’t usually ask about until you have a DV interview.
