Can my insurance pay for repairs or the AA (require ECU)

My car either needs a new ECU or it repaired

Can my comprehensive car insurance cover this?

I know the AA do repairs and parts up to £535
it would depend on the car but i expect most ECUs will be 50-250 range depending if you get the parts OEM or used etc. labour should simply be plug-and-play, so if you have AA i suspect that would cover it? best to call mechanics and your insurance company to see whether it would be covered.
No, insurance does not cover breakdown/upkeep AFAIK

No, insurance is for damage caused by accidents and not for routine repairs / maintenance.

No, your insurance companies will not pay for breakdown/upkeep/when parts go wrong.
Insurance companies pay out in the event of an accident.
