Hello, QueenOla,
I did poorly in my A-Levels when I took them. I got two of them with grades CD. I subsequently retook them and achieved CCDE, again not brilliant. I'm in my 50s now and hold seven qualifications from five universities. Don't let poor performance get in your way. If I could talk to myself when I was 18 with the experience I now have in my 50s, I would tell myself not to bother with retakes but to go to university straightaway with my grades. My university, Wolverhampton, allows students to join with DD grades or 48 UCAS points to read for degrees with a foundation year. Many other universities offer the same deal. Remember, universities need bums on seats, so take a chance and contact universities through clearing and see if any will take you this year. If none will, then you can always retake your A-Levels.
All the best!
