should i stay at a grammar school sixth form or my old state school sixth form?

right now, im stuck in a predicament where i can't decide whether to go to one sixth form or the other and the school year has already started.

i have already enrolled in the grammar school sixth form but it was a very last minute decision. i had my first day there and it was just so overwhelming and it can't be helped that i have severe social anxiety.
the pros were that the lessons were actually good but the cons were that nobody knows me and, therefore, doesn't know what's best for me. we are also forced to do mandatory pe which is kind of a hard pass for me but if doing pe is the sacrifice i have to make to access good education, i'll try and make it palatable for me.

i then had a trial day at my state school sixth form just to see what it's like there and i loved it since the environment is very familiar to me and the teachers there were actually pretty good.. however i want to step out of my comfort zone which is why i chose to go to the grammar school sixth form instead. i already got my uniform and resources for this new school but i'm just stuck on whether it is actually the right decision for me.. i just don't know what to do.

OK so make a go of Grammar School - There was clearly something that you felt was ok about the place to enrol in so run with your decision.

Your statement - " the pros were that the lessons were actually good but the cons were that nobody knows me and, therefore, doesn't know what's best for me"

After many years of schooling, you now know what is best for you.

You will know this going forward. Deal with your social anxiety and seek help to feel comfortable in your skin. You can approach your school welfare for this or your GP but there is nothing unusual about feeling uncomfortable socialising with others (if you are not used to it) You are now old enough to make decisions and understand the world. I am a little perplexed why you would then do a trial day at state school? You have decided to make a go of where you are, where you have chosen? You are the most important factor here. How hard you work, how determined you are and how much you want your next step will determine your chosen path in life.

Now just work as hard and as much as you can. Keep on top of studies and allocated work.
If you make new friends great, and if you don't, keep going and there will be plenty of opportunities at Uni to meet others in the next few years.

PE - It might be a shock to your system but you are all in it as a group (some love it some loath it) Share the pain. Put up with it. Your longer term health will be grateful you found out that your heart and lungs do actually work. It could be the best thing too for your anxiety as it runs off adrenaline. When it becomes a norm you might even start to enjoy it?

Stick with your choice and keep going unless there are huge reasons for changing. Changing to another study base doesn't necessarily help you learn more. You are in charge of that one. If you have major doubts talk it through with your parents and your tutors but don't rush into a decision you might live to regret.
