An alternative way to pass the course is to receive 90 credits (achieved by a mark 40 and higher” then to add on to this by somehow providing 30 credits otherwise. I.e. extra curricular courses passed that give you miscellaneous credits
Sounds like they’ll optionally take into account 90 out of the full 120 credits for the year when determining whether you can progress.

IE. A higher passing mark in 90 credits or a lower one in all 120.

But it’s impossible say for sure as this is only a snip from a larger section.
