I don't know what area of psychology I want to specialise in! Every job after uni seems to want a masters, but I don't want to do a masters until I know which one I definitely want to do otherwise it could be a waste of time. Any advise? Seems like a an endless cycle and not sure what jobs I can start with that will develop my career until I find my feet with it.
hey! Okay so im assuming youve already looked at different pathways in psychology you could specilise in and perhaps arent sure. I suggest firstly maybe exploring each one in depth and contacting people who study them such as through on ucas talking to previous students or at a local hospital etc. If you have the ability to and find a specific area interesting, try job shadowing for a day.

i bookmarked this website a year ago, its got lists of areas + salarys and other stuff (tho its for america but youll get a rough idea)

Hey! Yes, there are a lot of different psychology careers, so it can be difficult to know which might be right for you. I'd suggest looking into the different options here: https://www.bps.org.uk/career-options-psychology. Get a sense of what the different roles involve. While you figure it out, try to build up some relevant work experience. You could look into roles in mental health (e.g., support work), forensic settings, addiction services, learning disability services etc. You could also apply for Assistant Psychologist roles, though these are extremely competitive.
