Referencing in Personal Statement

Can you use short-hand in your personal statement? For instance I'm referring once to a play and playwright - should I say "...in Williams' 'Streetcar'" or "...in Williams' 'A Streetcar Named Desire'"?

I'm not sure it matters, but it might be better not to just so whoever is reading it understands what you're talking about.
You don't need to mention the writer of A Steetcar Named Desire
